          COIN CLUB

Reading Coin Club

1750 shilling - Loosely encased in glass (95mm).

- part of the base of what had once been a Georgian tankard.

The top part of the tankard was broken during a house move.

The decision to leave the coin in the encased glass is because it is at present "Brilliant" -

completely untoned and will probably remain so if left sealed up - as is.

Probably made between 1750 to 1757.

The Date: 5 over 4 (Very clear). There is NO underdate below the "0"

Unlisted as a overdate variety. Probably made with an 174 reverse die with space left for the last digit.

Due to the way the coin is encased I cannot produce a better picture or get any respectable picture of the reverse of the coin.
