1847 Silver 3d - Obv. Type Ad (3rd small colon dot after D.:)

Rev. A hairline die crack from just below cross, at band, on crown - thru centre of top of the 3

- through the tip of the 3 stopping at the centre of the base of the 3.

Date: The 8 is double struck - a small bit shows below and left of the 8.

The 4 is also double struck - a bit shows below and lower than the 4.

 

Probably a currency piece issued for use in the colonies rather than an ex-Maundy coin.

Obv. Toned, darker around legend lighter towards centre.

Rev. Deep even tone - all over.    Very rare (Unknown mintage !)
