ST 1844 Ax - Obv.1 (F: D: - Type Ai) As per Obv. Ay but this obverse has as yet NOT
had a piece of grit or other foreign object imbedded into the obverse
die whilst striking causing a small indent into the base of Victoria's neck.

This obverse is choice pale bright with light toning around the legend.
Rev. Unfortunately, there are some hair-line scratches around and on the
crown and one scratch just below the '44'.
* As one can see from the reverse picture the scratches are not too distracting !
Date: Small with the 1st 8 of the date slightly double struck.
Grade: Obv. EF+ Pale brightness with light toning around legend.
Rev. If one looks at the coin and NOT at the scratches the grade is
probably EF+ also - a slightly more pale brightness
