ST 1848 A - Obv. A (2 colon dots after F: &  D : The colon dots after D align

with the back of Victoria's neck).

Rev. Left tie ribbon and wreath stalk fully struck *

Date: Large    Grade:  Choice Bright with a hint of tone EF+

* I have only ever had two examples of this extremely rare date and as I did not

take much notice, previously, I cannot determine if my previous example had

full or part left tie ribbon & missing wreath stalk end.

See 1846 part left ribbon & wreath stalk.

It is difficult to know if this is a ex-Maundy coin or a choice currency coin.

I feel that this coin is more likely to be currency due to fields not being prooflike.

Whether it is Ex-Maundy or currency it is still extremely rare and highly

collectable !
