HC 1660 - Obv. Small hole at top (12 o'clock) otherwise all clear and centred Reads COMMOON - Double OO at end instead of COMMON. The 2nd O in COMMOON is struck over struck on an N !? Part of the left leg, top edge, straight leg and foot show- as shown with red arrows ↑ There is now a stop between COMMOON ● WEALTH - normal there is not ! The extra stop between COMMON ● WEALTH only seen for 1852 (ESC 27). Rev. O of GOD double struck - slightly lower and to the right Date: 0 has been struck twice - once high towards the edge (above and to the right of the hole). The 2nd 0 is to the right of the 1st 0 & below and to the right. Slight scratch from edge down through 2nd 6 left edge & I I to shield Grade: VF? for issue Rarity: An extremely rare date and not usually found in auction or dealers lists. Ref: Spink 3216: ESC 61: Rarity 4: Only 11 to 20 example known of the normal 1660 issue. All of the errors found on this coin have not been previously recorded. It appears that the die sinker was having a VERY bad day !! Could this example be unique ? * A noted example of the normal date 1660 was offered for sale by Baldwin's at VF+ £5.500.00.
