Sixpences - 1871 Die Numbers

            Anomaly !?

        SX 1871 - die no. 1  - NO !!

This looks like and is listed as Die No. 1

However, I believe that it is NOT - Die No. 1

As the Die No. 1 is situated in the WRONG place !

It is above and to the right of the 8 of the date whereas

it should be directly above and between the 8 and 7

See examples of Die No 2 & 4

This "1" placement appears to be the area if it were the "1"

of a double digit number between 10 and 19 !

The second digit is so weakly struck that it is impossible to

determine what it could be ! There does appear to be a

trace of a very slight curvature an ")" on the right edge

which could be the back of a "9" !?
