1940' German propaganda leaflet  made to resemble a British one pound

banknote of the time with a grey front and a cream reverse.

Obverse: H86 729630

Reverse: Arabic script - Two slightly different translations of the Arabic script !

I have no idea which is closest to what it really says - as I don't speak Arabic !

- as listed by London Coin Auctions

TRANSLATION

When you look attentively at this banknote you will remember the time when It was paid to you as the equivalent of ten times it’s weight of glittering and fascinating gold.

This is because this paper was guaranteed by the great Empire with Everything she possessed of power, richness, and splendour. But this power Vanished and her richness became obliterated just like shabby paper.

What is their value today? You doubtless know this. Every day of this war that England stirred up tears to pieces the power of the British Empire and every fight that she lost was the reason for the fall of the British currency.

The day has approached when the beggar will openly refuse the acceptance of the English guinea even when you give it to him as a present. Verily has God intended the dissolution of Britain and this will happen. As listed by Colin Narbeth
