1680 Maundy 3d - Obv. Reads OAROLVS instead of CAROLVS This is a repair to the 'C'
and the die has been rotated sideways by 90 degree (similar to the G over sideways G on the
1874 H farthing). The top part of the A is blocked up ! As seen on two examples.
The C is NOT over a 0 because if you look at the lettering the 0 is more oval. This is round.
Grade: Obv. Fair? (The lettering is virtually all clear but a bit misty around the top edge.)
Rev. Fair (All lettering clear except for G of MAG which is a bit misty) Rare & Unlisted.
