2016 SAINT HELENA
2016 Saint Helena Proof gold 5 Guineas issued to commemorate the
200th Anniversary of the end of Guinea coins.
From 1816 Britain reverted to using the 'Sovereign' as the gold unit of
currency. This commemorative coin was issued by the East India Company.
The weight is 42 grams of 22 carat gold. Or 1.2384 ounce of pure gold.
There was a limited mintage of only 200 and the coin sold out very quickly.
This coin was issue No. 19. There is a Certificate of issue along with
specifications and a booklet and the above leaflet. All contained in a
deluxe box with the East India Company logo on the lid.
