Similar to obverse (1st type) with  Two strong lines beneath the crown to ermine.

But like obverse (type 2) there are only 3 pearls in centre arch - from cross to top orb

The front cross is angled more downward and forward than on (type 1) - as per (type 2)

The orb at the top of the crown slightly smaller than on (type 1 & type 2)

The ermine seat at the front end of the crown extends higher up to the two lines

The shape of the ermine is slightly wavy as per (type 2) but different

HC 1887 - 1889  Reverse A -  (1) Above the base of the Crown and the jewelled collar there

are 4 thin threads from the edge left, under a Cross, to a fleur de lis,

to under the central Cross, to under another fleur de lis, and lastly to to the

Cross at the right edge.  Pointed to via RED arrows, on the Crown.

                              (2) The Cross at the centre of the base has straight sides and top with

curved edges inwards towards the centre jewel.

                              (3) Above the Cross, at the centre of the base, there are 3 large pearls

with a gap below the orb at the top of the Crown. Note also the formation

of the arches, etc. either side of the pearls. The top pearl aligns with the

lower tip of the arch. Pointed to via RED arrows.

                              (4) The Chain of the garter has circular links at the left, the ½ just

above and to the left and 1 link to the right side.

There is a gap between them and the above arches.

                              Pointed to via RED arrows.

There are other minor differences. These are the main ones noted.

HC 1889  Reverse B - (1) Above the base of the Crown and the jewelled collar there are

4 slightly thicker threads from the edge left, under a Cross, to a fleur de lis,

to under the central Cross, to under another fleur de lis, and lastly to to the

Cross at the right edge.  Pointed to via RED arrows, on the Crown.

                              (2) The Cross at the centre of the base has straight sides on all 3 edges

and is triangular in shape with the point towards the centre jewel.

                              (3) Above the Cross, at the centre of the base, there are 3 slightly smaller

pearls  that are very close to the  orb at the top of the Crown.

Note also the formation of the arches, etc. either side of the pearls and

as to how different they are to the arches on Reverse A.

Now, the base of the top pearl aligns the tips of the top of the side arch.

                               Pointed to via RED arrows.

                              (4) The Chain of the garter is similar in style to that of  Reverse A but

now has only 1 circular link at the left and 1 to  the right side.

As per Reverse A there is a gap between them and the above arches

                              Pointed to via RED arrows

There are other minor differences. These are the main ones noted.

HC 1889 - 1892  Reverse C -  (1) Above the base of the Crown and the jewelled collar there

are FOUR thicker threads from the edge left, under a Cross, to a fleur de lis,

to under the central Cross, to under another fleur de lis, and lastly to to the

Cross at the right edge.  Pointed to via RED arrows, on the Crown.

                              Similar to Reverse B.

                              (2) The Cross at the centre of the base has straight sides on all 3 edges

and is triangular in shape with the point towards the centre jewel.

                              Similar to Reverse B

                              (3) Above the Cross, at the centre of the base, there are 3 large pearls

that are very close to the  orb at the top of the Crown. Note also the

formation of the arches, etc. either side of the pearls and as to how

different they are to the arches on reverse A & B. Also, now, the top pearl

aligns with the  top of the side arch and the centre pearl is centred to the

lower tip of the arch. Pointed to via RED arrows.

                              (4) The Chain of the garter has only 1 circular link at the left and 1 to the
