As, at present, I don't have another Maundy 2d - 1704 to compare with so I cannot confirm if this
type of stop reverse is normal or not for 1704 !
I have found a picture of a 1703 Maundy 2d and the reverse stops are different to that of the above.
The reverse reads as: 03 . MAG : BR : FRA : ET . HIB . REG . 17
So the reverse of the 1703 & 1704, so far seen, are similar but not entirely the same.
For 1703 & 1704 the single and double colon stops are the same from the date (03 or 04) to ET .
However, after that the 1703 has a single stop after HIB . REG . where as in
1704 has a double colon stops after HIB : REG :
I have been advised by a Maundy specialist that the 1705 Maundy 2d has single stops after each
part of the legend - 05 . MAG . BR . FRA . ET . HIB . REG . 17
This 1704 Maundy 2d is Choice & deeply toned EF-EF+
