1953 Shilling - Obverse 2 I of ELIZ to gap between 2 beads |
These two obverses were only used in 1953 as the legend included BRITT OMN which
were removed from the shillings from 1954 to 1970.
Obverse 2 is very scarce and I believe can only be found on the shilling issued for currency
and are not in the commemorative presentation 'plastic' of that year.
Coins included in the plastic pack are halfcrown to farthing - 9 coins. The shilling is obverse 1.
Obverse 2 has only been found in the proof set. The coin shown is proof.
