ST 1837 A - Date type 'a'

ST 1837 C - Date type 'b'

ST 1837 Aa - (1 + A). The 7 seems to have a full stop just to the left and attached to the foot of the 7.

There also appears to be a small 'bit' that stick up above the top bar.

                                      Could this be a repair of a 7 over a 1?

                   * All of the examples of 1837, that I have had or seen, so far, with  Obv. 1 appear

to have this 7 type (reverse 'a'). It is more than possible that coins with obv. 1

that have a normal un-repaired date - as per reverse 'b' could appear.

Should such coins appear I will list them as - ST 1837 Ab

ST 1837 Cb - (2 +A). The 7 of the date is completely normal with no additional 'bits' or repairs..

                    * It is more than possible that coins with obv. 2 that have the added 'bits'

                     - as per date type 'a'. could appear.

Should such coins appear I will list them as - ST 1837 Cb

** It might be impossible to determine date type if the date is well worn.
