ST 1844 Ay - Obv.1 (F: D: - Type Ai) Tiny metal flaw (indent) at base of Victoria's neck.
So slight it does not show up on the scan.
*I have now found 3 examples of this small metal flaw (indent) and they are all
paired with the double stuck 1st 8 of the date. It is possible that a small piece of
grit or other foreign body got itself trapped on the obverse die and that is what
has caused this small indent. However, I have also found one example where
there is NO flaw on Victoria's neck.
Date: Small date. 1st 8 very slightly double struck. See above picture.
Grade. Obv. EF. Rev. EF/EF+ Bright. Scarce and difficult date to find.
