ST 1875 B - Obv.

ST 1875 B - Nose

'Part missing Nostril'

ST 1875 B - Rev.

ST 1875 B - I & D (double struck)

ST 1875 B - Obv. 3  Similar to ST 1875 A except that Victoria's nose has the

missing nostril. Victoria's top lip is rounded as per all obverse 3 types.

The last or 2nd I of VICTORIA & the D of D: G: have been double

struck - possibly as a reinforcement of those letters. Other letters

may have been double struck but more carefully and therefore not

be as obvious as the I & D.

Rev. B  Trace of Victoria's ghosted head from die clash.

                   Grade:  Bright - EF+

* Examples with the 'part' missing nostril were first noted ONLY for 1873. It now

appears that that obverse die was used later up to 1878. As there are far fewer

examples found with the use of this die they can be considered scarce. It is

difficult to estimate the scarcity with this die as probably no one has looked

before to see if this 1873 obverse die type continued after 1873 !
