The 2nd 8 is closer to the ribbon tie.

All the numerals point to teeth.

11 border teeth - 1 to 8

SX 1858 Ab (with Obv. 1) - Normal date

The 2nd 8 is away from the ribbon tie .

18 - border teeth. 58 - to gap

10 ½ border teeth - 1 to 8

 

    

SX 1858 Ba (with Obv. 2) - Normal date

Very similar to small date with obv. 1

except that the 5 is closer to the 1st 8

185 - to border teeth. 2nd 8 - to gap

10 ½ border teeth - 1 to 8

SX 1858 Bb (with Obv. 2) - 

small narrow date

As per small date except that ALL of

numerals are very close together.

18 8 - to border teeth. 5 - to gap

10 border teeth - 1 to 8

Obverse 1 is also the scarcer type.

Date: 10 ½ border teeth appears to be the commoner type. 

         The 11 & 10 border teeth appear to be the scarcer date spacings.

It is possible that there are more date variations available.
