SX 1881 A - Smaller/shorter 1881

SX 1881 B - Larger/Taller 1881

It is difficult to see or show difference between date type A & B as they are minimal.

One really needs an example of both - to compare.

SX 1881 A - The numerals are slightly smaller and shorter than type B

SX 1881 B - The numerals are very slightly larger and taller than type A

SX 1881 B - The numerals appear to be very slightly closer to the border teeth.

They cover the same teeth width (9 teeth).

I have found similar quantities of each date type that one is not really scarcer than

the other. However, Davies (D.1100) [Large date] suggest that type B is the scarcer type.

SX 1881 Ba - 1st 8 tilts to left

SC 1881 C - slightly wider

SX 1881 Ba - This example of the 'taller' numerals has the 1st 8 tilting slightly to the left

and the '1's' appear to be slightly slimmer.

SX 18881 C - A variety of the 1881 sixpence by [Rust**] (4 May 2016),

The numerals appear to be of the slightly smaller/shorter font (type A) but the width of

the numerals are now half a tooth wider at 9 ½ teeth wide as apposed to 9 teeth wide.

Last 1 over gap between two border teeth. The 1st '1' looks a bit fatter than the 2nd '1'.
