Many of the
decimal 2 pence coins
from 1971 to
1982 are becoming
more
difficult to find with
FULL
original Mint lustre !
The early
proof set copper coins
are more
prone to loss of lustre
possibly be due to
the slightly
toxic glue* used to
seal up these
plastic
holders for the coins !
*(glue -
ONLY toxic to the lustre !!)
I try and
show the amount of lustre still
remaining on
the coin so one can get an
idea of how
much lustre is on the coin.
For 1971 to
1982 coins I use
AU
(Almost Unused) & the %
of lustre I
consider remains.
AU95
is virtually FULL lustre.
(As good as
you can get !)
~~~~~~~~
Sometimes
the obverse & reverse
of the coin
can have different amounts
of lustre I
show this with the lustre
on the
obverse 1st & the reverse 2nd.
i.e. AU90/80
Obverse =
90% / Reverse = 80%
~~~~~~~~
Where I show
i.e. AU75+
This shows
that probably I have
more than
one coin in stock
and the coin(s)
have a
minimum of
75% lustre -
or possibly
more |!
~~~~~~~~~~
For some post
1982 coins I use
AS
(As Struck) i.e. FULL
lustre.
As well as AU
+ for % of lustre. |
