GR 1848 H -  Rev.  Type C   All of the letters in PENCE appear to be enlarged except for

                                  the P of PENCE.

The first E has bolder, stronger top bar, centre bar and lower bar.

The ends have a more triangular look. The back serifs are also longer.

The N has bolder centre down bar. The serifs are also stronger and longer.

The C is again virtually circular with a gap at 3 o'clock..

The tail or end section is now much thicker than previously seen on Rev. A.

The E is as per the first E bolder and stronger.

This example the E is double struck.

There is a die crack at 4 o'clock from the edge to the top of the C.

Date: Type h  The last 8 is double struck as 8 over 8 and over 7.

The ' 18' appear to also be slightly double struck.

The  '48 are smaller as seen on the rare 7 over 8 examples.

The  '48' are entered above the base line.
